A handy tour for a weekend on the Amalfi Coast

The small hamlets of the Amalfi Coast are perfect for a fast holiday, like a two day trip of the Amalfi Coast or a weekend (better if in summer!), among breathtaking views, great food and sunny beaches.

Here is a small tour that you will surely like!

HOW TO TRAVEL DURING THE TWO DAYS TOUR?

No matter where you come from, just reach the Salerno central train station, where you can rent either a car or a moped (the best choice in the summertime).

It is not recommended to travel by the SITASud buses if you are on a two days trip to the Amalfi coast!

DAY ONE

For your two-days trip to the Amalfi Coast, from the Salerno central train station you can enjoy a walk around the medieval historic centre, having a great breakfast at one of the many coffee bars in Corso Vittorio Emanuele; this will only take you around an hour.

After that, go to Vietri sul mare, the doorway to the Amalfi Coast, for a walk around its tiny city centre, full of wonderful Vietri ceramics.

Then, reach Minori, the city of taste, and have some great food, such as the ndunderi alla minorese (Minori ndunderi pasta). After that, you can either visit Maiori walking along the evocative  sentiero dei limoni (lemons path) or enjoy some time on the beach of Minori and have a dinner on the Coast Roof: Ravello!

DAY TWO

From Maiori you can reach Amalfi in just 15 minutes. This city is the queen of the Amalfi Coast. Here, you can take a swim and have a great cuoppo di frittura di pesce (fried frish).

From Amalfi you can reach Positano in half an hour. You can then visit the charming vertical city, having some shopping, among beach fashion clothes and hand-crafted sandals. Finally, you can enjoy some delicious food overlooking the sea.

SMARTIP

Don’t stay in Positano overnight, as it is very expensive. Instead, you can reach Conca dei Marini (halfway between Positano and Amalfi), a small hamlet nested on the rocks overlooking the famous Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Green Grotto).
