Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano of Naples is a monumental building that overlooks via Toledo. It is part of the Gallerie d’Italia network.
The history of this building is related to the powerful families that ruled over Napoli, since its construction in 1600 as requested by Juan de Ceballos y Nicastro, also known as Giovanni Zevallos.
The entrance to the Zevallos Stigliano palace of Naples is a monumental gate by Fanzago in via Toledo.
The monumental grand staircase leads to the noble floor where there are several rooms: the Sala degli Stucchi (Plasters Room) that houses the Martirio di Sant’Orsola (Sant’Orsola Martyrdom) by Caravaggio, the Sala degli Amorini (Cherubs Room) with a collection of 17th century works of art, the Sala degli Uccelli (Birds Room) that hosts a collection of Campanian and Neapolitan works of art made between the 18th and the 19th century, the Sala Pompeiana (Pompei Room) and the portraits, the Sala della Fedeltà (Loyalty Room) that houses works by the crazy sculptor Vincenzo Gemito.
The Palazzo Zevallos palace rooms also houses temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, creating a contrast between modernity and the majestic and austere permanent collections, making the site an incredible museum complex of fluid art.
There is no admission fee for Intesa San Paolo customers, as the bank owns the Gallerie d’Italia network.
