Trentova Bay in Agropoli

The baia di Trentova in Agropoli is right in the middle of the oasi naturalistica UNESCO di Trentova-Tresino (Trentova-Tresino UNESCO World Heritage List Nature Oasis); it is the door to the Parco Nazionale del Cilento (Cilento National Park).

The bay is named after the cliff right above the grotto where, according to legend, 30 seagull eggs were found (Trentova means “30 eggs” in local dialect).

The beach of the baia di Trentova is smaller than before; moreover, it is often overrun by the Neptune grass, but still it is one of the most beautiful and evocative beaches of the Cilento coast.

There are two beachfront resorts with full facilities: Lido Jamaica and Lido Trentova. There is also a small free beach, and in via Trentova there is a kiosk (La Baia coffee shop).

From the bay you can easily reach the scoglio di Trentova (Trentova cliff) by a clear and signaled path; there is no sand here, but you can still dive from the rocks, just beware of sea urchins!

The baia di Trentova is far from the centre of Agropoli, that’s why the best way to get there is by car. You just have to drive along via Fontana dei Monaci, the road that leads to via Trentova. Not far from the beach there are a couple of car parks that are not that expensive.

You can also get there by bus: take the bus that leaves from piazza Merola in Agropoli and get off at Trentova.
