The coast of Campania is set between mountains and sea, a place to visit from top to bottom for its naturalistic beauties.
There are many activities you can enjoy: biking along the Amalfi coast, climbing the cliffs of the Sorrento coast, diving at Punta Campanella, or just touring by boat the islands of the Napoli Gulf…the choice is yours!
If you rent a bike, you can ride along the path through both the Sorrento and Amalfi coast, that goes from Sorrento to Amalfi. It is a 60 kilometers ride that takes one day; if you prefer to rest for the night, you can make it in two days stopping halfway. You can also choose an e-bike.
Another interesting ride is the Valico di Chiunzi racetrack, that goes through Ravello, Tramonti, up to the Valico di Chiunzi, among the Lattari Mountains, and back to Amalfi. This ride requires either a mountan bike or an e-bike, because the initial stretch is very steep.
The cliffs of the coast of Campania are perfect for climbing, especially those in the Sorrento area. In Sorrento there is Toonado, a group of young men and women, that organises climbing tours on both the Sorrento and Punta Campanella cliffs.
The agency Direzione Verticale based in Sorrento also offers different tours, such as climbing, bouldering and deep water soloing (a particular solo rock climbing without any kind of protection) tours.
The Amalfi coast offers great spots to climb as well, such as the cliff of the Orrido di Pino path in Agerola and the cliffs of the Sentiero degli Dei (The Path of the Gods).
Due to the intense traffic and the narrow road, it is not recommended to organise a bike ride of the Amalfi coast during summertime. The risk of ending up blocked in traffic is high, even if you are on a bike.
The best to way to discover the treasures hidden in the Campania crystal clear sea is definitely diving. In Praiano there is the Centro Sub Diving Costiera Amalfitana, that offers different tours (for both beginner and expert divers) to discover the beautiful sea of the Salerno Gulf.
In Massa Lubrense there is the Punta Campanella Diving Center, that offers diving tour in Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Ischia and Procida. The staff will help you discovering a priceless underwater heritage, such as the Vervece wreck, the Mitigliano Grotto and the Isca Grotto.
If you are more interested in the islands of the Napoli Gulf, instead, in Capri you can find the Capri Sea Service that will take you discovering the hidden grottos and the cliffs. Moreover, in Ischia there are many agencies, such as the Ischia Diving Centre and the ANS Diving Ischia, that organise diving and snorkeling tours and water games for children.
