Visit the Pignatelli Villa Museum in Naples

On the Chiaia Riviera, just before the municipal villa, we find the Pignatelli villa museum of Naples, a monumental villa in neoclassical style, built in the early nineteenth century by Sir Ferdinand Richard Acton, prime minister of Ferdinand I, and sold years later to Prince Diego Pignatelli Aragona Cortés, Duke of Monteleone.

To get to Villa Pignatelli in Riviera di Chiaia 200, from Piazza Garibaldi you have to take the L2 metro or bus 151, both stop at Piazza Amedeo. From here you have to walk about ten minutes in the direction of Villa Comunale and you have arrived.

Outside the Pignatelli villa museum in Naples, in what used to be the stables, there is the Carriage Museum, where various models of carriages from the late nineteenth century are exhibited. Entering the park of the villa, there is the English garden, the neo-Gothic tower, the greenhouse and the chalet.

The interiors of Villa Pignatelli are a riot of objects, furnishings and styles dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. It is possible to visit the three living rooms (red, green and blue) full of paintings, porcelain, objects, furniture, sculptures, decorations that bear witness to the splendor of the rich families who lived there.

There is also the ballroom, the library, the neoclassical veranda, the dining room that belonged to the Pignatellis.

On the ground floor of the villa is the Principe Diego Aragona Pignatelli Cortés Museum, whose collection includes objects owned by the Pignatelli family.
