The Roberto Papi Museum of Medicine in Salerno is small and unique, and houses a collection of significant medical and surgical instruments.
The Roberto Papi Museum of Medicine is named after a Roman collector, and consists of 14 rooms distributed over two floors that contain medical finds and medical-surgical equipment dating back to the 18th and 20th centuries, as well as reconstructions of ancient medical and pharmaceutical offices.
On the first floor there is the reconstruction of an ancient pharmacy, the apothecary and the herbalist’s shop.
The second floor is dedicated to surgery and the various branches of medicine, and there is also the reconstruction of an ancient dental office.
From the Museum of Medicine you can easily reach the Garden of Minerva on one side, and the Cathedral on the other side.
