The prince’s path is a path that goes from the Duomo to the Castello Arechi, through Croce di Cava and back to Canalone. This path is not that easy and takes 4 hours.
From the Duomo proceed towards the big steps of Montevergine, that lead to the pine grove in front of the Castello Arechi. From the Castle proceed towards the wood that leads to the door of the Bastiglia, a tower guarding the castle.
From the Bastiglia take the road to Croce di Cava, where you will proceed downward to the chestnut grove leading to the San Liberatore mountain. Proceed downward to the Cornice del principe (Prince’s Frame), that offers a breathtaking view of Salerno and its Gulf, then get to Canalone and back to the Duomo.
The prince’s path offers no water springs, so be sure to have some water with you; moreover, you should wear proper shoes to walk this path.
