Leaving Palinuro, the first beach you reach getting to Marina di Camerota is the Capo Grosso beach; you gen get there by walking the path that starts from the SS562 state road.
This is a sandy pebble beach, with both a free area and a full facilities area, and it is delimited by the rocky end of Capo Grosso. The sea is crystal clear and you can also find the fossil dunes.
The main beach is named spiaggia Calanca. You can get there by some steps that from the residential area of Marina di Camerota lead to the sea.
The beach is wide and sandy, with full facilities and a shallow seabed, that’s why it is perfect for families with children. Since it is the village’s main beach, in summer it is always overcrowded.
The spiaggia lentiscelle is the last beach you can reach by car. It is a sandy pebble beach and offers both free and full facilities areas.
There are two paths starting from this beach: the first one leads in few minutes to the Zancale Tower overlooking the bay; the other one leads to the Baia degli Infreschi. Moreover, behind the spiaggia lentiscelle there are the Lock Grotto and the Lentiscelle Grotto.
.
Walking along the sentiero degli Infreschi (Infreschi path) you will reach the spiaggia del Pozzallo and the Cala bianca.
The spiaggia del Pozzallo is nestled in cliffs and underwater grottoes. It is a pebble beach with a small coffee bar surrounded by nature. Keep walking for 20 minutes and you will reach the spiaggia di Cala bianca (White Bay beach), a small wild inlet with white pebbles and crystal clear sea.
You will find no facilities here, just the green and blue sea. Since the beach is covered in white pebbles the sun hits harder so be sure to have some sun cream with you.
The baia degli Infreschi is where the path that starts from the spiaggia lentiscelle ends, and it is part of the Area marina protetta Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta (Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta Marine protected area).
This bay is a beautiful natural harbour nestled in rocks and Mediterranean scrub. Both the Torre del Frontone (Pediment Tower) and the small church of San Lazzaro overlook it. The beaches are small and covered in pebbles, so be sure to wear proper shoes.
There is just a small coffee shop on a boat. Exploring the baia degli Infreschi you will notice some cave with fresh clear water springs. It is after these springs that this worldwide famous bay was named.
The best time to have a swim in the wonderful sea of Marina di Camerota is during autumn, that is September/October.
