Discover Marina Grande in Procida

Marina Grande of Procida is the home of the port and the busiest ferry landing place.

You will often hear the people of Procida call it Sent’Co’, which is the dialect abbreviation for Sancio Cattolico, the other name of the marina.

As soon as you arrive in Marina di Procida, you will be welcomed by the Procida coast with its pastel-coloured houses, and Palazzo Montefusco, also known as the crenellated palace due to its battlements.
The marina is also the departure point for all Procida buses, taxis and mini-taxis. Furthermore, you can find scooter rental (General Rental Isola di Procida).

Marina Grande is the docking point for all the fishing boats, that is, the fishing boats, which still arrive there every afternoon and sell their fresh fish to passers-by.

From the port, walking along Via Roma to Piazzetta Sancio Cattolico (or Piazza Marina Grande) you will find the wooden crucifix from 1845 (sailors’ crucifix) and the small Church of Maria Santissima della Pietà with the Baroque style bell tower.

If you want to have a nice swim, however, near Marina Grande there are two very characteristic beaches in Procida: the Grotte beach, named for the tuff caves that you will find there, and the Lingua beach which can be reached from the port via an old staircase.
