A kayak is a type of canoe (but it is not a canoe!) that can be for one or more people, it navigates on the surface of the water and to move you need a paddle, which is free, that is, it does not rest on the boat.
There are 2 requirements for a kayak excursion: good health, because paddling still requires a minimum of physical effort, and knowing how to swim, because if the kayak were to capsize you would find yourself in the water.
For the rest, the agencies on the Amalfi Coast that organize kayak trips will provide you with everything you need and will give you a short lesson on how to paddle, so even those who have never seen a kayak can try their hand at the feat.
One of the most beautiful kayak routes is the one offered by Amalfi Kayak that goes from Amalfi to the Rughentiello cave, an easy route, also suitable for the less experienced, and very suggestive.
After an introductory briefing on kayaking and sea rules, we set off from Amalfi.
The route will take you along the most beautiful beaches of Amalfi, near natural rock arches and inside sea caves, giving you the opportunity to admire the ancient watchtowers that dot the entire length of this coast.
Not too far from the starting point, you will pass by the Arco degli Innamorati, a natural rock arch created millions of years ago by the erosion of the sea in the shape of two elephants kissing.
After passing the coast of Conca dei Marini, you enter its western basin. From there, there is a breathtaking view of the villages of Furore and Praiano and the islands of Li Galli and Capri, along with the famous Faraglioni.
Further inside this basin you can visit the small Grotta del Runghetiello, an enchanting natural sea cave that takes its name from a local fish.
You will stop at some beaches of the Amalfi Coast that are only accessible by sea and you will have time to snorkel or swim in crystal clear waters.

The route begins by passing in front of the Norman Tower of Maiori, a mighty defensive bastion that protected the city from attacks from the sea, especially from Saracen pirates.
Visit the Grotta dello Zolfo, a small cave located just after the Norman Tower. Witness the sulfur gushing from the rocks in a water source considered miraculous and excellent for skin care.
Enter the famous Grotta di Pandora, one of the most beautiful and largest caves on the Amalfi Coast. Be enchanted by the rock formations of stalactites that make Grotta Pandora a pristine natural pearl.
Stop for a break at the Spiaggia del Cavallo Morto in Maiori while your guide prepares an aperitif based on lemon Spritz and fresh fruit. Relax and take a dip in the pristine and crystalline water of the Baia del Cavallo Morto.
