The hamlet of Pisciotta
The medieval village that slopes down to the sea

Pisciotta is a charming little village in Cilento that is located before arriving in Palinuro. It is a very popular destination for summer vacationers because of its tranquility and beauty.
The medieval village of Pisciotta is all perched on the hill overlooking the Marina, and is made up of narrow streets that open onto viewpoints and small squares.
In the historic center there are many noble palaces, such as Palazzo Marchesale, which can be visited in part and which houses the municipal library.
Stairs lead from the village on the hill to the Marina di Pisciotta, passing through the centuries-old olive trees typical of the place. The quiet marina has a small port and a beach, separated from the small promenade only by a low wall, without lidos and pebbly, in fact it is advisable to wear rock shoes.
In Marina, stop to eat at the Angiolina Restaurant to enjoy some excellent dishes based on fresh local fish.

To get to Pisciotta by car, take the A3 SA-RC motorway, exit at Battipaglia and continue on the SS18 towards Vallo della Lucania. Exit at Poderia and continue towards Palinuro, at the roundabout turn right towards Pisciotta.
By train, the Naples-Reggio Calabria lines leave from the stations of Salerno and Naples and stop at the Pisciotta-Palinuro station. From here, shuttles leave for Marina di Pisciotta, which is about 3 km away.
