How to reach Procida and how to get around the island

Compared to its sisters Capri and Ischia, the island of Procida is less touristic but still evocative with its very narrow roads, the pastel coloured houses, the crystal clear sea and the volcanic sand beaches.

Here we have a little guide of how to reach Procida and how to get around the island.

HOW TO REACH THE PROCIDA ISLAND

If you leave from Napoli, you can either take the hydrofoils that leave from Molo Beverello and that take 45 minutes to reach the island, or the ferryboats that leave from Calata di Massa and that take 1 hour.

From Pozzuoli you can take the ferryboats to Procida that take 40 minutes to reach the island.

If you are going on a vacation to Ischia, you can spend a day to visit Procida. You can reach it from Ischia Porto either by ferryboat (that takes 25 minutes) or hydrofoil (15 minutes).

GETTING AROUND PROCIDA

The small buses line reaches every corner of the island of Procida and the main station is in Marina Grande.

Don’t worry about the tiny buses. The buses are so small so they can travel along the very narrow streets of Procida!

There are 4 lines and the frequency is approximately 30 minutes between one trip and another. Times may vary because the buses departing from the port wait for the ship or hydrofoil to disembark.

You can also rent a bike or even a moped to get around the island.

SMARTIP

Procida is just 16 km wide, so you can easily walk it. But if you want to enjoy a great experience, you should rent a bike!
