La Fornace museum of Agropoli
From a disused brick factory to a cultural centre
The ancient furnace of Agropoli was built at the end of the 19th century, its six ovens continued to produce bricks until around 1970 when it fell into disuse.
Today the structure has been recovered and transformed into a museum and cultural center, known as the La Fornace museum of Agropoli.
The La Fornace Museum of Agropoli is located inside the Bonifacio Public Park, in via Lombardia, a quiet area of the city.
Inside it houses the Acropolis museum dedicated to ancient engravings and archaeological finds from the 5th and 4th centuries, and the industrial archaeology museum that traces the history of the furnace with original 19th-century models and descriptive panels.
A few meters from the furnace there is the Eduardo De Filippo cinema-theater, a beautiful structure that organizes cinema and theater shows. To find out the program just visit the website cineteatroeduardo.it
