Alento river oasis

Right outside the Parco Nazionale del Cilento (Cilento National Park), there is the Alento river oasis (Oasi Fiume Alento), a huge nature park where you can have any kind of outdoor activity, such as botanical garden tours, picnics, trekking, outdoor sports and much more.

The park suits every kind of tourist, especially families with children.

The Alento river oasis is in Prignano Cilento; to reach it you have to drive along the A2 highway and take the exit signposted either Battipaglia or Eboli, then drive along the SS18 state road towards Agropoli and proceed towards Vallo della Lucania, finally take the exit signposted Oasi Fiume Alento. 

This nature park in named after the river that flows through it: the Alento river. The oasis is a 3.024 hectares area rich in plants, where you can play any kind of outdoor sport: trekking, Mountain bike, horse riding, archery, rowing, fishing. 

You can also visit the botanical garden and the dyke as well; the latter can be toured by electric bus. If you want to have a picnic, you can book a picnic post within the picnic area, with tables and barbecue where you can cook some meat. 

The Oasi Fiume Alento offers two overnight staying options: camping or Green house rooms. Moreover, it hosts summer camps for children from 6 to 12 and offers several tours such as the “lake experience”, that is a kayak tour with dinner and camping by the river.
