The Punta Campanella natural protected area is between Massa Lubrense and Positano; it is where the Sorrento Coast and the Amalfi Coast meet and consists of 40 km of wild rocky coastline with a unique view.
This watchtower, named Tower of Minerva, was requested by king Roberto D’Angiò.
Inside the tower there is a bell that used to warn people about looming menaces, that is why this side of the coast is called Punta Campanella (Bell Tip).

The trekking path that starts from Termini and gets to Baia di Ieranto, going through Punta Campanella is pretty demanding and takes about 3 hours one way. It is a very panoramic path, as Punta Campanella overlooks Capri and both the Gulfs.
Starting from piazza di Termini in Massa Lubrense you have to walk along via Minerva to reach Punta Campanella, more precisely to reach the Torre di Minerva. From the tower proceed upward to Monte San Costanzo (San Costanzo Mount); near the mount’s top there is the path 39 that leads to the Baia di Ieranto.
As the path is a little demanding, be sure to bring some water, some snacks and the sun cream with you and wear a cap and a pair of trekking shoes.
