In addition to the ski lift of Monte Solaro, you can reach the mount on foot through the passetiello path.
The trekking to Solaro Mount is pretty arduous, it takes about two hours and half one way but it is still very satisfying.
TREKKING TO SOLARO MOUNT IN CAPRI
From the Piazzetta di Capri walk along via Roma up to the Due Golfi lay-by, then continue along via Torina toward Marina Piccola, following the road signs to the Passetiello. Somewhere along via Torina there is a fork; take the uphill road and follow the red arrows that show the way through the woods up to the Passetiello, which is a small canyon.
Continue upward up to the chiesa di Cetrella (Cetrella church), where you will find a fork: take the left path to get to the top of the Monte Solaro and enjoy one of the most beautiful view in the world.
Here you can go down through Anacapri and get to Marina Grande. Keep in mind that the walk back to Capri takes three more hours.
Once you reach Anacapri, you can take the bus to get to the Piazzetta or to Marina Grande.
The path is not suitable for neither those who suffer from heart diseases nor untrained people; before walking it, be sure to have it planned or turn to qualified people, such as one of the many organizations in Capri that organise trekking tours and excursions.
