Calitri bread is a traditional agricultural food product from a small town in Alta Irpinia, Calitri.

Its recipe is very old, but its goodness has survived to this day.

Calitri bread is made with crescent, that is, with a mixture of flour, semolina, water and salt that is kneaded for a long time. Then the dough ferments in the heat and darkness until it is shaped into the classic wagon wheel shape, and is cooked evenly in the ovens.
