Bus lines CS 1 and 2 arrive from Ischia and Casamicciola, while buses lines CD 1, 2 and 24 arrive from Forio.
We recommend that you be accompanied by a guide at the entrance, who will tell you various anecdotes about the Waltons and list the various species of plants and flowers along the path.
The La Mortella Gardens in Ischia are a riot of small paths, colours, scents, plants and flowers of many Mediterranean and sub-tropical species. They are not very large, and walking slowly and fully enjoying the visit takes about 2 hours.
This botanical garden is nestled among the volcanic rock formations, and is divided into: valley garden and hill garden. On the path you will also find a beautiful aviary, fountains, the aloe garden, Sir William’s rock, the Greek theater.
The Gardens also offer concerts in spring, summer and autumn, often by young artists, thus following Sir William’s will, that is, to help budding musicians take flight.
