Philosophical Park in Capri

Away from the touristic core of Capri, not far from the Belvedere della Migliara (Migliara Panoramic Viewpoint) in Anacapri, there is the Philosophical Park, a peaceful oasis where the Mediterranean scrub grows wild and the paths hide quotes.

THE TREASURE OF THE SWEDISH ECONOMIST GUNNAR

The swedish economist Gunnar Adler-Karlsson and his wife wanted to honour Capri’s area, and its beautiful wild and rocky nature as well, with this park in the core of the Migliara. Gunnar also wrote “Riflessioni sulla saggezza occidentale” (Thoughts about western wisdom), a booklet donated to all the visitors of the philosophical park.

THE PATHS OF THE PHILOSOPHICAL PARK

The philosophical park was realized within a wood where the Mediterranean scrub grows naturally wild.

Walking along the paths of the park you will notice several ceramics decorated with quotes by the greatest western philosophers encouraging reflection.

From there the view is breathtaking, as you can easily imagine: a panoramic viewpoint on Punta Carena and the sea stacks.

There is no entrance fee to the philosophical park and you can stay there until sunset.

SMARTIP

If you want to eat something, right in front of the philosophical park there is the Da Gelsomina restaurant where you can have the famous Capri ravioli pasta.
