Behind the Duomo di Benevento (Benevento Cathedral) there is the city area that once housed the ancient Roman Court, with its arch of Sacrament of Benevento dating back to the 1st – 2nd century AD, perfectly preserved in its original shape, leading to the archaeological area of the same name.
The archaeological area that includes the arch of Sacrament of Benevento, in via Carlo Torre, is what remains of the ancient Roman thermal baths discovered during the arch renovation.
The area is always open and there is no admission fee: the iron boardwalks passing through the remains will lead you back to the Roman period.
For a complete experience of the Roman Benevento, go visiting the Roman theatre, that is not far from the arch of Sacramento; if you reach the city suburbs (towards the ancient via Appia) you can also visit the ponte Leproso (Leproso bridge) and the complesso dei Santi Quaranta (Santi Quaranta Complex).
Located near the arch of Sacrament of Benevento, B&B 30 mt dal Duomo offers free WiFi and free use of bicycles. There is also a bar and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony.
The units at the bed and breakfast come with a terrace, city view, a seating area, a satellite flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and an oven and a private bathroom with bidet and free toiletries. They also feature a microwave, minibar, stovetop, coffee machine and kettle.
