Trekking to the Torre dello Ziro: from Pontone to Amalfi
The panoramic path from Pontone to Atrani

There are many trekking routes on the Amalfi Coast, and one of these is the one that starts from Pontone and arrives in Atrani and then in Amalfi, passing through the suggestive Ziro Tower, an ancient lookout post built by the Duke of Amalfi in 1480.
Today, not much remains of the tower, it is practically a ruin, but the breathtaking view still makes it an enchanted place.
The path that leads to the Ziro Tower in Amalfi starts in Pontone in Via Pisacane towards the south.
Along the path made of rocks and steps, follow the signs for the Ziro tower, once you reach the pine forest you are almost there. Once you have visited the tower, continue down a flight of stairs that leads from Pontone to Atrani, and from there to Amalfi.
The trek that leads to the Ziro tower is an easy route and lasts about a couple of hours (4-5 km), if you include a visit to the fortress.
Just before arriving at the Ziro Tower, at an altitude of 264 m, there is a beautiful viewpoint overlooking Amalfi, Atrani and the Tower itself.
Starting in the medieval village of Scala, walk to a high point of the Valley of the Mills. Afterwards, descend along a scenic trail to Pontone village, where the second part of the walk will begin.
