Immersed in the greenery of the Mediterranean scrub of the Buonopane hill in Barano, near the Maronti beach, there is the Nitrodi nymphs’ thermal spa, whose healing waters were already known by the Greeks in the 1st century BC, which makes the source of the nymphs Nitrodi in Ischia one of the oldest spas.
To get there, take the CD and CS buses and get off at Buonopane, then follow the signs and take the road that leads to the thermal park.
The Nitrodi nymphs’ thermal spa in Ischia is surrounded by greenery and features various panoramic terraces where you can relax with a view of the Ischian sea.
The water from the Nitrodi spring is mineral, hypothermal, bicarbonate, sulphate, alkaline and earthy alkaline, and is effective in treating the skin, the gastrointestinal tract and arthritis.
In the park there are four solariums, healing waterfall showers, sinks, chairs and umbrellas. You can take advantage of the many wellness treatments, such as balneotherapy and bamboo massage, and the aromatherapy path.
The Nitrodi spa also has a bio bar and a thermal relais where you can stay.
The best time to go to the source of the Nitrodi nymphs is certainly September.
