Capri is rich in coves, grottoes and bays, due to its jagged coastline.
Two of the most beautiful grottoes of Capri are the Blue Grotto in Anacapri and the Green Grotto near Marina Piccola.
The Blue Grotto in Anacapri, worldwide famous for its light blue colour, is about 60 metres long and you can get there either by road or by sea. You have to take the bus toward Blue Grotto that leaves from Anacapri and then get off at the terminus. There you will find some rowboats that will take you into the grotto.
Otherwise, there are several boats that leave from Marina Grande (the largest beach in Capri) and arrive at the entrance of the grotto where you will find the rowboats to go into it.
To visit the grotto you have to pay for both the entry ticket (4 euros) and the rowboat (9 euros).
The Green Grotto is near Marina Piccola in Capri and it is worldwide famous for its bright green light bouncing off of the rocks.
You can reach the grotto only by sea, booking a boat tour of the island at the Marina Grande harbour.
Entering the grottoes may be stressful for those who suffer from claustrophobia, but the tour doesn’t last that long so hang in there!
