Telese Terme and San Salvatore Telesino

The small villages in the Valle Telesina have much to offer in terms of tourism, considering Solopaca and its vineyards, Telese terme kissed by the thermal waters of the Pugliano mount, and San Salvatore Telesino with the beautiful Grassano park.

Just 30 minutes away from Benevento, in the Samnite ancient Telesia area, there is the village of San Salvatore Telesino where you can visit the antiquarium Telesia inside the Abbazia benedettina del Santo Salvatore (Santo Salvatore Benedictine Abbey), that houses finds dating back to the Samnite and Roman periods and the ruins of the Rocca, an ancient watchtower standing on a hill dominating the village.

The gem of San Salvatore Telesino is definitely the parco del Grassano that is crossed by the rio Grassano (Grassano stream). Inside this wide green oasis you can have a picnic at the dedicated picnic areas with wooden tables and barbecues, enjoy a kayak tour on the Grassano river, have a pizza or some traditional local food at the restaurant by the river, let children play at the playground.

The Grassano park is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 am to 11.30 pm. In summer, the park is open on Monday too and every Thursday hosts the Disco park, a party from 10.00 pm to 3.00 am with music and drinks under the stars. Proceeding southward from the Grassano park you will reach Telese terme, a village famous for its thermal park supplied by the sulfurous thermal waters of the Pugliano mount, that fill its two historical pools: Goccioloni and Pera.

Not far from the thermal park of Telese there is the parco delle antiche terme Jacobelli (Jacobelli ancient thermal baths park), also known as Terme vecchie (old thermal baths), where the ruins of the original thermal baths are.

Moreover, near Telese there is a small lake of the same name that is surrounded by nature, where you can have a walk or a picnic by the lake.
