The Sgarrupo beach in Erchie

The beach of Sovarano in Amalfi coast, also known as Sgarrupo beach (“crumbling” in local dialect), is between Cetara and Erchie and only the brave can get there!

It is known as Sgarrupo because to reach it you have to climb a steep cliff. But once you get there you will realize it was worth the climb!

HOW TO GET TO THE SGARRUPO BEACH

In theory, you can reach the Sgarrupo beach in Erchie – Amalfi coast only via sea by a private boat but, as it is not a tourist beach, those who get there usually prefer to climb the cliff, that through the years turned into a distinctive characteristic of this incredible beach.

Right after Cetara, proceeding toward Erchie, at the km 43.8 of the Amalfi state road there is a lay-by with a small wall to prevent people from falling down. To reach the beach you have to climb over the small wall and walk down the concrete steps. At the end of the steps there is the cliff to climb to reach the Sgarrupo beach.
