The beaches of Capri are not the classic sandy beaches that we find for example on the Amalfi Coast, but are full of pebbles and small.
Immersed in the large natural context of the rocky coast that overlooks the crystalline sea … a unique bath!
The free beach of Marina Grande is right near the port, it is characterized by medium-sized pebbles, and can be reached by the funicular that leaves from the center of Capri (near the Piazzetta) and arrives at the port at a cost of 2 euros.
It is best to arrive early both because it is small and tends to overcrowded, and because the sun goes away in the early afternoon.
Marina Piccola beach overlooks the Faraglioni of Capri, and can be reached by taking the bus from the terminus near the Piazzetta, or by walking from the center in 15 minutes.
The beach is small and full of pebbles, and the sun goes away in the afternoon. Compared to Marina Grande it is less crowded, but still full of people in the peak months.
Another free beach is Punta Carena, which can be reached by taking the bus from the center of Anacapri to the Punta Carena Lighthouse (2 euros).
It is not a real beach, in the sense that there are no stretches of pebbles or sand, but only rocks to dive from, and a couple of bars where you can have an aperitif to enjoy the sunset. Very characteristic and less touristy.
The pebbles could hurt your feet, so if you are particularly sensitive wear plastic shoes to walk on the rocks.
