Visit the Benevento Strega liqueur space

Benevento is the home of witches, of janare, who with their herbal concoctions prepared potions and filters, and it was with spices and herbs that Giuseppe Aliberti invented the Strega liqueur destined to become an icon in Campania and in the world.

The Strega space in Benevento is a museum-laboratory that allows those who visit it to delve into the history of Giuseppe and his liqueur.

In the historic Aliberti liqueur factory, in Piazza Vittoria Colonna 8, the Strega space of Benevento has been set up, which feels like a museum, where you can see the herbalist’s shop with the historic herb chest, and touch the herbs and spices that are used to make the Strega liqueur.

The tour continues in the old distillery and in the cellar where the liqueur is aged for at least 6 months in oak vats, and then arrives in the imitation room, where the counterfeit bottles of the liqueur are exhibited, and in the Strega Prize room, dedicated to the literary prize and its winners over the years.
